Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026. TenderSift is in pre-launch; these terms will be updated with the operator's registered details before any paid service is offered.

1. What TenderSift is

TenderSift is a free information service that lists open South African government tenders and summarises requirements from their published documents. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.

2. Where the information comes from

Tender information comes from the National Treasury eTenders Portal and its open data, which National Treasury licenses for use, publication and re-publication provided a link to the original source is kept. Every tender page links to the official documents on the eTenders Portal. See Data sources.

3. Summaries can be wrong

  • Requirements are extracted automatically from tender documents. They can be incomplete or wrong, for example when a document is scanned, amended or unclear. Items that can't be confirmed word for word are left out, but that doesn't guarantee the rest is correct.
  • National Treasury publishes the portal data without guarantee of accuracy and states that it must not be relied on for critical decision-making or legal purposes. The same applies to this website.
  • The official tender documents, and any addenda the buyer issues, always take precedence. You are responsible for reading them and for everything you submit in a bid.
  • Nothing on this website is legal, financial or procurement advice.

4. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the website is provided "as is" and TenderSift is not liable for loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the information on it, including a bid being disqualified or not awarded. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot lawfully be limited.

5. Independence

TenderSift is independent. It is not part of, endorsed by or affiliated with National Treasury, the eTenders Portal or any organ of state, and it has no influence over any tender process or award.

6. Using the website

  • You may use and share the information for your own business purposes.
  • You may not use the website to break the law, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or the systems behind it, or put an unreasonable load on it.
  • Links to other websites, including the eTenders Portal, are provided for convenience. TenderSift isn't responsible for their content.

7. Privacy

How personal information is handled is set out in the privacy policy.

8. Changes and law

These terms may change; the date at the top shows the latest version. They are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.

9. Contact

Contact details will be published here before launch.
